National Soybean Research Laboratory International Projects

The need for protein solutions to malnutrition around the world is significant. NSRL is dedicated to helping fill the world's growing protein requirements through soy. NSRL is involved in more than 35 programs in 21 countries.

NSRL collaborates with WISHH to help fill the world’s growing protein requirement through soy. International programs and projects have a common theme ‐ provide nutrition support in areas around the world that face extreme challenges of malnutrition and chronic disease.

Health and Nutrition Fair in Honduras

NSRL recently sponsored a nutrition fair at the Republic de Honduras School in
San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Xiomara, the friendly soybean was a huge hit with
the children who participated. Soymilk and cookies

NSRL collaborated with Cargill, Alcon, Pollo Noreno, CARE, CePudo and the World Soy Foundation to create awareness about the connection between balanced nutrition and wellness. Soy-enhanced dishes were on the menu and similar events are planned for the future in Central America.

2011 International Soybean Processing and Utilization Conference (ISPUC)

The sixth annual Soy & Grain Trade Summit and the scientific gathering International Soybean Processing and Utilization Conference (ISPUC) were held in St. Louis, MO on October 31 - November 3, 2011.Attendees from industry and academia had the opportunity to understand their scientific work with soy in the context of the global agriculture, food and animal nutrition marketplace. Speakers presented basic and applied research on topics randing from processing, health and human nutrition, new quality traites and unique soy foods, animal nutrition, and lesser-known, new and novel applications for soy.

NSRL was pleased to be host the ISPUC portion of the conference.The proceedings are available for attendees using the access password available in the Soy and Grain Trade Summit program book at Soy & Grain Trade Summit website.
